BOOK
A Little Ruella
Danielle Dahoui is creative and multifaceted. Not only was she a chef, entrepreneur, restaurateur – the kind who takes care of every detail – she is also a presenter, speaker and… she became a writer. Dahoui ventured into children’s literature and launched in 2015: A Little Ruella, by the publisher Matrix. It was the arrival of her daughter, Noah (14 years old nowadays), that inspired the chef to write. The work, suitable for children from 7 years old, talks about respect for differences, love and friendship; spiced with curiosities about some dishes made around the world. The book features illustrations by Santuzza Affonseca.
SINCE 1996
Drink Ruella
It was set up in a large bowl hours before Ruella Bistro opened. Dahoui was just following instinct and putting in the ingredients. Since then, Drink Ruella has been gaining lovers who are surprised by the richness of its taste: a unique combination of vodka, citrus and the main ingredient, pomegranate – aphrodisiac fruit, symbol of love, marriage and fertility. Drink Ruella is part of the one-night experience at Ruella Bistro. It is an invitation to toast the “joie de vivre” and the pleasure of being with those who love each other. After all, joy is the food of the soul.
RUELLA DISCOGRAPHY
Dahoui looks at gastronomy with a particular look that involves ambiance, lighting, décor and music: it’s all part of the experience. That’s why she personally chooses the soundtrack that plays in her restaurants. This activity, always praised, gave rise to two albums by Universal Music: “La Musique du Ruella and Bar d´Hotel Beats, released in 2001 and with a repertoire selected along with musician Celso Fonseca. The idea was that the customer could buy and have at home a piece of the good times lived in their restaurants through the sound experience of the songs.
The success of the albums and the huge sales for the season bore fruit: La Musique de Dahoui, by the ST2 records. Only restaurant CDs in Brazil, whose tracks feature versions of nationally and internationally renowned musicians, with copyright negotiated and approved by each of them.
